Notable Accomplishments at Westside Toastmasters

August, 2008

Westside Toastmaster member Robert MacKenzie competed in the finals for the World Champion of Public Speaking at the Toastmasters International Convention in Calgary, Canada on August 13-16. The competitors were the top ten out of a quarter million Toastmasters from 80+ countries around the world. Definitely impressive for him to have been in rarefied atmosphere with top-notch competition.

Robert previously had won the annual Region 2 International Speech Contest in June, 2008 leading up to the World competition. That Regional competition included the 8 best speakers from around California, Nevada, and Hawaii.

October, 2007

In October, 2007 Richard Kim won the annual District 1 Humorous Speech contest competing against the best four Toastmaster speakers from the greater Los Angeles area. Check out the "channeling" of his "inner woman", here.
