Assessing Your CEO Quotient

  1. Does your organization still have old-economy jobs in which employees do little more than enter information into a system?

  2. Do you (and other managers) encourage employees at all levels and locations to send an email to anyone, including the company chairperson, at any time?

  3. When was the last time you made an important strategic decision based on an idea or recommendation made by someone not on your senior management team?

  4. Are all of your company's key reports (sales, customers, incentive plans) available by some electronic means?

  5. Do all of the employees who need access to those key reports have access? Do the customers have access to those same reports?

  6. How good is your organization's corporate memory? Can an employee or customer find a particular record online in less than 60 seconds?
