National Organizations

There are two national organizations that provide information on parliamentarians and parliamentary procedures. If you are interested in becoming a parliamentarian, these organizations provide excellent guidance and also sell instructional materials. Each organization has a different requirement for membership, and both have local chapters that meet regularly. Interested parties are welcome to attend as guests. For those needing assistance with parliamentary procedure, these organizations have listings of registered and certified parliamentarians who organizations can hire in various capacities, such as convention parliamentarian, presiding parliamentarian, and bylaws consultant. These organizations can also suggest parliamentarians to give targeted workshops to your organization.
